APPROACH
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in California with experience providing individual, couples, and family therapy in both private practice and community spaces. I work primarily from a relational perspective, centering the therapeutic relationship as an important aspect of the work that I do. This means working collaboratively with you to get a sense of your own unique needs and establishing a sense of trust, connection, respect, and safety as a foundation for any deeper work that we may do. I value flexibility and I am able to supplement with other trauma-informed psychotherapeutic approaches and techniques—DBT, somatic psychotherapy, CBT—as may be needed. My approach to therapy draws heavily from harm reduction philosophy and from queer, feminist, and anti-racist perspectives.
I have worked with a wide variety of people from different socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. My areas of strength are in working with teens, young adults, and families as well as providing therapy to queer people of all gender identities, providers working in community and non-profit spaces, and those involved in harm reduction work. Trauma and substance use are my areas of specialty.
I know that for many, the state of the world is increasingly painful. I am here to hold space for however that may uniquely show up for you and to support you finding what you may be looking for from therapy. This often includes a better understanding of yourself and your relationships, a deeper sense of meaning and purpose, more ease, an increased ability to tap into joy—whatever that may look like for you—and a safe space to process difficult experiences and emotions.
