Anjali Mistry, MA
I specialize in psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy, working with adults navigating depression, trauma, major life transitions, and relational challenges. I believe our struggles are often connected to our relationships, histories, and the ways we have learned to understand ourselves and others. Therapy offers a space to explore these connections, especially when you feel stuck, are moving through change, or notice familiar patterns repeating in your life. I am particularly interested in attachment, relational patterns, and intergenerational experiences.
My style is warm, engaged, and curious. I hope to create a space where you can bring the parts of yourself that feel difficult, complicated, or contradictory and explore them without judgment. I believe every therapeutic relationship is unique, so our work will be tailored to your needs, experiences, and goals. Together, we can notice patterns as they emerge, deepen your understanding of yourself, and experiment with new ways of relating that can extend beyond the therapy room. As an Indian American clinician, I also bring sensitivity to the complexities of culture, family, and intergenerational relationships, including navigating your own desires alongside familial or cultural expectations.
My work is also informed by Jungian and depth psychology, including an interest in dreams, symbolism, and the unconscious. When meaningful, we may explore dreams, memories, or recurring themes as ways of understanding parts of your inner world that can be difficult to put into words. Ultimately, my goal is to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, so you can have greater autonomy in making choices and creating changes that feel meaningful to you.
